Our aim is to provide supported accommodation to a wide range of client groups including people with mental health problems, people with a learning disability, ex-offenders, care leavers etc. Duration of support will vary according to the particular circumstances that prevail and the withdrawal of support is planned and agreed between all parties concerned.
All tenants are issued with an Assured Shorthold Tenancy.
If a tenant has a keyworker, evidence of support needs are required, stating what support is being provided.
If a tenant has no Keyworker, they may receive more intense floating support, according to individual needs.
North Wales Housing Association has a Floating Support scheme within the Supported Housing department, which supports tenants who have additional support needs in our general housing stock.
Many applicants on our general waiting list have additional support needs.
A Floating Support Worker will give support at the beginning of the tenancy, helping move in, applying for grants, acquiring furniture, budgeting etc, this will continue for as long as required until the tenant is ready for independence.
Access to our waiting list is through application for housing.
The General Needs Housing officer may refer a tenant who is already in our housing stock who they feel may need additional support with housing issues.
Floating support may also be provided to tenants moving on from more supported accommodation on a pathway to independent living.
