‘Going it alone’ launched as young persons independent living guide

This week sees the launch of the new ‘Going it Alone’ guide, a booklet offering young people advice and guidance when making their move towards independent living.

Developed by North Wales Housing, Cartrefi Conwy, Conwy Council’s Youth Homelessness Service, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd and mobile youth information service, Bus Stop, the guide places emphasis on a planned, supported move into independence, encouraging young people to consider all of their options before going it alone.

NWH breathes new life into historic home

North Wales Housing (NWH) has finalised works on a major refurbishment scheme at The Willows, a Grade 2 listed building, set in the heart of Llangollen.

The imposing road side building has remained derelict for the past two decades and had fallen into a state of disrepair and dereliction.  Following the purchase of the building some 12 months ago by NWH, the organisation has managed its redevelopment and worked closely with Denbighshire County Council, Welsh Assembly Government and CADW to secure funding.

NWH homeless service boosted by show of support

The Gwynedd Homeless Services  fund of North Wales Housing was given a boost this week following the presentation of a cheque for £500 by Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance.

The fund, that currently relies solely upon external donation and support, helps homeless people involved in the NWH hostels and supported housing facilities across Gwynedd.

2011 Census

Information and guidance has been provided, with specific guides created for care providers to give the information and tools they may need to help others complete their census questionnaire.  

Completing the 2011 Census questionnaire is required by law and anyone who does not could be prosecuted and fined up to £1,000.
