The total amount of rent arrears owned by current tenants in general needs accommodation at the end of 2010/11 was almost £290,000, and it was just over £22,000 for current tenants in supported accommodation.
Improving performance in rent collection is a key priority and we have recently introduced an out of hours rent arrears collection service and developed facilities for tenants to pay their rent over the phone.
