Our Board
Current Board Members 2009 - 2010
North Wales Housing Association is an organisation dedicated to providing homes for people who cannot afford to buy or rent on the open market and are genuinely in housing need.
The Association is registered with the Welsh Assembly Government which is a public body that funds and supervises the work of Welsh Housing Associations. A Board made up of local professional people committed to the provision of housing decides on the policies implemented by the Association and employs a team of professional officers to provide a quality housing service.

Helen White (Chair of Board)
Joined January 2005
Helen is a Consultant for E C Harris LLP in Liverpool, having previously worked with Chester City Council, North Wales Police Authority and Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd. She was Chair of the North Wales RSL Equality Partnership in 2003/04. The Chartered Institute of Housing awarded Helen “Young Housing Professional of the Year” in 2003. She represented north Wales and the north-west on a Rotary Group Study Exchange to New South Wales, Australia, in 2004. Helen is a fluent Welsh speaker.
Peter Gibson (Vice Chair of Board)
Joined July 2008
Peter is a solicitor whose last role before retiring was as Director of Tourism and Leisure for Conwy Council. He had previously been Assistant Chief Executive at Clwyd County Council. Amongst a number of voluntary roles that Peter has carried out, he is the Chair of the Trustees of the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
Alice Robinson
Joined February 1975
Alice has held many positions of public responsibility and continues to be active on behalf of a variety of local organisations. As a district councillor, Alice was Chair of Housing Committee and held the chair of the National Housing and Town Planning Council (North Wales region). She is a full-time voluntary worker and a founder member of NWHA.
Mary Hill
Joined September 1997
Mary is a retired secretary with G-Plan, and is also a tenant of the Association. She is a former Chair of the Operations Committee.
Lynne Parry
Joined July 2002
Lynne is a former Regional Director of Shelter Cymru, having worked in the housing sector since 1997. She is currently taking a career break.
Gerard Davies
Joined July 2006
Gerry is a self-employed painter and decorator. He is a governor of Blessed William Davies School in Llandudno and Vice Chair of Llandudno Football Club. He is a former Town Councillor and chaired the Finance and General Purposes Committee. He is a tenant of the Association and is the Chair of the Parc Clarence Residents Association.
Adrian Baugh
Joined July 2006
Adrian has degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Studies. He founded and built up his own engineering company over a 25-year period. He later moved into the building trade. He retired on health grounds. Adrian is tenant of NWHA.
Colin Hanks BSc (Hons)
Joined December 2007
Colin is Assistant Chief Fire Officer for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service. He commenced service in August 1978. Prior to this he served in both the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy. Colin is currently working with Ann Jones AM to introduce legislation in the Welsh Assembly to seek statutory powers for the installation of domestic sprinklers in new build housing within Wales. Colin is a fluent Welsh speaker. Colin was awarded the Queen’s Fire Service Medal in the 2010 New Years Honours List.
Kathryn Beard (Chair of Audit)

BTEC Diploma, BA Hons, MA
Kathryn is a Senior Environment Manager for the Welsh Assembly Government working within the Department of the Economy and Transport. Prior to working for the Assembly she worked for the Welsh Development Agency as a Planning Manager. Kathryn is a Welsh learner, having completed an ‘A’ level.
Marion Pryor (Vice Chair of Audit)
Joined July 2009
Marion is an internal audit manager employed by Denbighshire County Council. On the Council’s behalf she manages the internal audit service at the North Wales Police Authority and at the Countryside Council for Wales, where a collaborative agreement exists to provide their internal audit service.
Marion qualified as an internal auditor, becoming a member of the institute of Internal Auditors, in 1999. She gained her Masters Degree in Change Management from Liverpool John Moores University in 2004, qualifying with a distinction. Marion is currently studying to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Nia Wright Morgan
Co-opted October 2009
Nia is employed by the Wales Co-operative Centre as a Project Manager on a Social Enterprise Project which covers the convergence area of Wales. Nia has a background in marketing but has wide experience, including working with a Wales-wide credit union project for a three year period. A fluent welsh speaker.
Neil Stevens
Co-opted October 2009
Neil has been the Executive Director of Finance for Conwy Local Health Board since 2003, but finds himself working in a changing environment as a restructuring of health bards is implemented across Wales. He is a CCAB qualified accountant with experience in financial management and business planning. Neil’s previous employment includes Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust and Glan Clwyd Hospitals NHS Trust.
