Agency Partnership Schemes

North Wales Housing has a variety of Agency Managed Schemes across Conwy, Gwynedd and Ynys Mon. These properties were set up in agreement between North Wales Housing, Local Authorities and Care Agencies. These houses look to provide accommodation and support for people, that is focused upon individual needs.

These houses were set up in response to peoples ever changing needs and to provide safe accommodation whereby people can lead full and independent lives, with the help of their support workers. These homes provide supported living within local communities for our Tenants.

There are currently 31 Agency Managed properties across Conwy, 4 in Gwynedd and 4 in Ynys Mon. The properties provide supported living for people with a diverse mix of needs and the houses are to support people with the following needs:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Mental Health schemes
  • Physical Disabilities and Sensory Impairment
  • Young people leaving Care and young persons move on from Hostel accommodation
  • NACRO Doorstop for adults with substance misuse issues and/or offending backgrounds
  • Women’s Aid Refuge properties

The success of these properties relies on partnership working with partners across the counties and this is a list of some of the partners we work with:

We provide the properties and then complete the Housing Management for the Tenants. The Care Agencies then provide the day to day support, at various levels depending on the individuals needs. Many of the properties are specially adapted to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our Tenants to ensure they have full enjoyment of their homes.

Tenant Engagement

Tenant Engagement is key to ensuring that we are providing the best possible service to our Tenants.  We have Tenants from all walks of life and we try our best to meet everyone’s needs whilst giving consideration to other Tenants and staff. So we consult with our Tenants as regularly as possible to gather feedback on the services we provide. This is usually done on a one to one basis but we are looking to hold future events to get our Agency Managed Tenants together.

We have written to our Agency Managed Tenants in December 2009 to ask for suggestions for future ideas for events that our Tenants would be interested in attending. If you have any ideas for future Tenant Engagement, then please click here .

Working with Partner Agencies

Working with our Partner Agencies is key to what we do. We must ensure that we are providing the correct services to ensure the needs of our Tenants are fully met. We held an Agency Managed Forum Event in April 2008 at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club. This was an opportunity for our Partner Agencies and representatives from local Authorities to attend an event, along with North Wales Housing Staff from various departments. Many issues were discussed and all that attended felt it was a very useful event. This gave the Agency Partnership Co-ordinator an opportunity to look into issues that were raised on the day and follow these up.

Reviews

There are Annual and Quarterly Reviews at each property. The Annual Reviews take place with Social Services, the Agencies and the Tenants once per year, at the property. This Review allows all parties to review the services provided with the property and discuss with the Tenants, how they feel about their home. It also helps us to maintain the properties, help resolve any issues and ensure that the homes we provide are suitable for the Tenants needs.

The Quarterly Reviews take place approximately every three months at the house, with the House Manager. This gives us an opportunity to meet regularly to complete the Housing Management and monitor and report any Maintenance issues. If there are any issues in between these reviews, the House Managers, their staff and the Tenants can report issues direct to North Wales Housing.
