Accessibility

We have tried to make our website as accessible and usable as possible. We have kept WCAG2 guidelines in mind throughout the development of our website, complying with individual guidelines where possible, practical and beneficial to do so.

Your feedback is important to us. If you discover a part of our web site that has been difficult to use, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected].

Screen reader accessible:

  • Text that is visible to screen reader users only has been applied to icons to aid navigation
  • Ability for screen reader users to skip to main content

Font size:

The font size can be increased up to 20% more than the default font size by clicking the AAA buttons in the top right hand corner, available on every page. The first A represents the default font size; the second will increase it by 10% and the third by 20%. However, in order to maintain the layout of the web application, the font size increase will only be applied to the main content. Buttons, menus and the majority of headers will not be affected by this change.

The font size value will be kept in a cookie and returning users will have the same size applied when returning as when they last visited the website (unless they clear their browser’s cookies).

Colour blind:

The layout/main colour scheme does not present any issues that could lead to impairing colour blind users’ ability to use the website.

Language selection:

The North Wales Housing website is available in English and Welsh. Users can select their preferred language by selecting their language of choice on the top right of each page within the website.
