First Families Move Into Energy-Efficient Homes in Chwilog
It is a great start to 2025 for 6 families who’ve moved into our 3 bedroom homes in the village of Chwilog, Pwllheli.
The Cae Bodlondeb properties have been built by Beech Development using a modern method of construction called insulated concrete formwork. It consists of blocks made from an insulating material, which combines with concrete resulting in an extra warm home built to the highest standards.
The houses all have triple glazed windows, solar panels and an air source heat pump heating and hot water system.
All of those features have been included to reduce the running costs for residents by lowering the amount of energy they will use.
The houses are also fitted with Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery which extracts stale air from the building and replaces it with fresh, filtered air!
Carol and husband Dion were the first to get their keys.
They were very happy with their new home and not only got a warm welcome from the NWH team but from the house, with the air source heat pump switched on and already heating the property ready for their arrival.
Carol said:
“I have been looking forward to moving in ever since we found out we were getting the house last summer.
“It’s definitely our forever home.”
Lauren Eaton – Jones, NWH’s Assistant Director for Development said:
“It has been brilliant to work closely with Beech Development and see these properties take shape. It is so important to see more affordable homes delivered in this area. This new construction method combined with new technologies has resulted in high quality homes for local families that we are really proud of.”
The new sign ups mark the start of North Wales Housing’s 50th year.
