What is Welsh Housing Quality Standard? 

In October 2023, the Welsh Government introduced new standards for social housing in Wales, ensuring residents have access to affordable, high-quality homes that meet both current and future needs.

How can I get involved?

Your involvement is key to these new standards. We’ll soon be sharing ways for you to have your say, whether through feedback sessions, community discussions, or other initiatives. Stay tuned for more details on how you can get involved!

What are the deadlines?

By 31 March 2025:

  • Assess home conditions and identify necessary improvements.
  • Develop a plan and budget to meet new standards.
  • Engage with residents to share plans and gather feedback.

By 31 March 2027:

  • Create a Targeted Energy Pathway (TEP) to improve home energy efficiency.

By 31 March 2030:

  • Ensure all homes reach at least an EPC rating of ‘C’, with proper insulation.

By 31 March 2034:

Achieve full compliance with WHQS 2023 standards.
