What is Welsh Housing Quality Standard?
In October 2023, the Welsh Government introduced new standards for social housing in Wales, ensuring residents have access to affordable, high-quality homes that meet both current and future needs.

What are the deadlines?
By 31 March 2025:
- Assess home conditions and identify necessary improvements.
- Develop a plan and budget to meet new standards.
- Engage with residents to share plans and gather feedback.
By 31 March 2027:
- Create a Targeted Energy Pathway (TEP) to improve home energy efficiency.
By 31 March 2030:
- Ensure all homes reach at least an EPC rating of ‘C’, with proper insulation.
By 31 March 2034:
Achieve full compliance with WHQS 2023 standards.
