Bangor Saints FC

North Wales Housing is behind the line, behind the team at Bangor Saints FC

Bangor Saints FC is a local grassroots community football club.

The club, which was formed eight years ago, has set up teams for all ages and abilities from U6s through to U17s.

A former ‘Grassroots Club of the Year’ award-winner, the club aims to provide a safe environment for players of all abilities, to learn, develop and enjoy playing football as a community sport with community values.

So, when they approached North Wales Housing for a Community Fund grant, we were determined that club support should not be seen to be ‘flagging’.

For players to enjoy and take part in football, the Club ensures that they are encouraged to:

  • Take an active part in the sport
  • Form relationships and work together
  • Develop their skills and improve over time
  • Be able to take part whatever their ability
  • Develop personal skills in key areas: technical, psychological, physical and social
  • Appreciate and demonstrate a good sporting attitude
  • Understand the laws of the game: Be listened to and valued; Be positive about themselves and others

Daf Roberts, himself an FA Wales Coach of the Year, is Coaching Co-Ordinator at the Club. He said:

“These new corner flags represent the cornerstone of North Wales Housing and Bangor Saints FC assisting each other in taking care of the young people in our community. We are grateful for the funding received from the Community Fund which helped us replace our old corner flags.”

Iwan Evans, North Wales Housing’s Resident Participation Co-Ordinator, said:

“The great work that is ‘kicking off’ at Bangor Saints FC is inspiring and ties in very well with our own values here at NWHA. We were delighted to support the club and the players.”

Onwards and upwards Bangor Saints!
