North Wales Housing response
North Wales Housing continues to work closely with the Welsh Government’s Regulatory Team, providing the assurances they have requested so they can be confident that we are taking robust action, particularly in the two areas they have identified.
Since last year’s Regulatory Opinion, we’ve taken a number of proactive steps to improve our Governance and Finance, including:
- Further developing our 30-year plan and undertaking stress testing
- Making significant financial savings through an efficiencies plan
- Developing a Value for money strategy and statement
We have recruited a new Chief Executive, Helena Kirk, to improve executive leadership and a detailed Governance review has led to five new board members being co-opted to join with immediate effect.
We are confident that these new members will strengthen North Wales Housing with their range of skills and expertise, particularly in Finance, and help us to achieve what is expected of us.
Chief Executive Helena Kirk said:
“We would like to reassure our tenants that this will not alter the level of service they receive and that they will continue to be our priority. We are undertaking an organisational review, in addition to close management of risks, finance and performance so that we become a stronger and more efficient organisation to face the future.”
“Thank you to Welsh Government for their continued support. We will continue to work closely with the Regulator and to deliver our robust improvement plan across this next year.”
