North Wales Housing funds four missions for Wales Air Ambulance

North Wales housing have raised a brilliant £6,014.38 for Wales Air Ambulance; double their set target and enough to fund 4 missions for the charity.

Wales Air Ambulance was an easy charity choice for us, with many staff with their own reason to want to thank the charity.

Paul Diggory, Chief Executive North Wales Housing said:

The charity is very close to many of our hearts, a number of staff have had friends or family who have been helped by the service.”

The reaction we’ve had to Wales Air Ambulance has been brilliant by everyone, there’s no doubt that they’re a loved and well respected charity.”

Wales Air Ambulance community coordinator Medwyn Hughes said:

We’ve been blown away by the support and commitment of everyone at North Wales Housing. They have fundraised tirelessly for the cause and smashed their target, undertaking a host of creative and challenging events.”

The charity relies entirely on donations to raise £6 million to keep the air ambulances flying. Last year we flew 475 missions across North Wales, and we can only do these missions through support such as this. North Wales Housing’s donation will go directly towards helping to save lives in the air.”

The money was raised by doing a number of things, from a 26.2m Walkathon, 45 mile bike ride, a grand raffle as well as things such as breakfasts, afternoon teas and dress down Friday’s throughout the year.

Paul Diggory, Chief Executive North Wales Housing said:

I’m so proud of all of our staff; they’ve worked really hard to raise this money, and all in their own time.”

Fundraising has really helped bring staff together too. Relationships have developed, friends made. And it helps with how work together in work too. “

A charity panel has been set up this year, a team dedicated to drive fundraising across the organisation. The charity for 2016-17 will be announced soon…
