Festive Fundraiser: Celebrating Chinese New Year

We kicked off our Chinese New Year celebrations a little early this year at North Wales Housing!

Our team came together to enjoy some delicious Chinese food and raised an impressive £366 for our chosen charity of the year which aims to provide defibrillators in our communities. A big thank you to Min and Hayley for organising!

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is a significant celebration in Chinese culture marking the beginning of the lunar calendar. It’s a time for families to gather, enjoy traditions, and wish each other prosperity for the coming year.

Festivities include parades, dances, fireworks, and feasting on traditional foods. Each year is associated with one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, influencing beliefs about the year’s fortunes. Overall, it symbolizes renewal and the hope for a fresh start. In 2024, the Chinese zodiac animal associated with the year is the Dragon.

As we look forward to the Lunar New Year, let’s continue to spread love, joy, and goodwill wherever we go!
