North Wales Housing Celebrates Welsh Government’s Funding Increase for Homeless Services

North Wales Housing is delighted to celebrate the recent announcement by the Welsh Government regarding a funding boost for housing services in 2024/25. Building on Tuesday’s positive news of an additional £5 million to the Housing Support Grant (HSG) funding across Wales, today’s announcement of a further £8 million increase marks a significant milestone, representing a remarkable c7.8% rise.

The success in securing this funding is a testament to the tireless efforts of organisations like Cymorth Cymru and CHC. North Wales Housing has played its part by contributing essential data, case studies, and frontline worker experiences to support the case. We are proud to be involved. Our grant funding enables our Supported Housing staff team to support over 160 people at a time.

The Minister’s allocation has been made to address pay pressures and support providers in delivering on the Welsh Government’s commitment to Fair Work and the Real Living Wage. As a proud Real Living Wage employers, North Wales Housing is dedicated to upholding fair wages and standards of living for employees.

This funding boost is a fantastic step forward, ensuring that vital services and support can continue to be delivered to those who need it most in our communities. We’re grateful for the ongoing support of the Welsh Government and our local authority funders, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the year ahead.
